Summer anthems – Chase and Status

As summer time approaches we all start to listen out for that big summer anthem and I think that this year Chase and Status might be able to deliver just that. They have been around for a couple of years with more prominence in the Drum and Bass scene and are now moving into much more mainstream. Their album ‘No More Idols’ is a great show of dance / drum and bass where they have collaborated with current pop artists.

With the increasing success of this album they will be making their way around the festival circuits and I can’t wait to see them at Bingley Music Live in September. However I am intrigued as to how they will create a lot of the sounds that they have been producing with artists such as Plan B and Dizzee Rascal (a personal favourite from the album for me). Most of the album is very up beat but it slows right down with the penultimate track, Midnight Caller featuring Clare Maguire and if you like her voice mixed with a magical beat then it is definitely worth a look up.

So if you are looking for an anthem this summer my top tip is to suggest that you try them out and I predict you will be pleasantly surprised.
